On completion of the Foundation Course, students move into their Cinematography specialisation. Through actual productions with budgets and complete pre-production, casting and post-production, the programme absorbs students in the technical and creative demands of cinematography for television, feature, documentary, advertising or music films.. They gain a thorough proficiency with different camera types including:
|
| |
- DV
- HDV
- Broadcast-level television cameras
- 35mm film
- High Definition Sony CineAlta
|
| |
| These film exercises and projects are tightly scheduled, placing you under the same strict time constraints you will encounter in the professional world, teaching you discipline and efficiency. When not occupied with your own film exercises, you will assist other crews, resulting in a constant rotation of cooperation and collaboration. Through lectures, workshops, extensive practice and complete productions students master: |
| |
- Use of light meters, lenses and filters
- Use of a wide range of professional lighting equipment from Arri & Sachtler
- Shooting in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions including live events, multi camera television, studio and location shoots
- Complex tracking shots with trolley and crane
- Aesthetic use of composition
- Special visual effects and advanced lighting techniques
- Special shooting conditions including aerial and underwater
- Career management skills
|
| |
| Additionally, the Cinematography students will have the opportunity to complete certain specific exercises designed by SONY for which certificates will be jointly awarded by SONY and Whistling Woods International on completion. |
