Events and Programmes for an Overall Development.

Film Analysis & Screen Studies

Throughout the course, students participate in a comprehensive film studies programme taught from a filmmaker's perspective. Through regular screenings and lecture discussions of exemplary films, students identify techniques used by filmmakers in their approach to storytelling as well as the historical, political and social importance of film in the last century.

They are taught how to analyse films from India, Europe, Asia and Hollywood in varying critical contexts, but most importantly as the outcome of practical strategies that they can use for framing, criticising and developing their own take on celluloid storytelling.

Guest Speakers

Weekly sessions with guest lecturers and speakers from a variety of backgrounds enrich the learning experience at Whistling Woods International by offering students the opportunity to round out their education. In addition to noted filmmakers, this program aims to expose students to academics and specialists from diverse fields. With a broad spectrum of invitees, from psychologists, anti-piracy lawyers and sociologists to writers, choreographers and musicians, students are offered a substantial enhancement over and above any regular film programme in order to foster their overall intellectual growth.

Cultural Events
We believe a creative environment supplements and enriches the development of any filmmaker, actor, writer or technician. In view to this, Whistling Woods International will host an array of cultural events during the year from musical and dance performances to plays and poetry readings. A thriving artistic atmosphere and the dynamic energy of live performance stimulate imagination and inspire students to expand their personal boundaries.
