Whistling Woods International held its Inaugural event in Filmcity on July 18th 2006. The institute was unveiled by Chief Guest Shri Dilip Kumar and Guests of Honor I&B Minister Shri Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi and Civil Aviation Minister Shri Praful Patel. A host of other dignitaries were present to congratulate and convey their best wishes to the Whistling Woods management and the first batch of students. These included Anand Mahindra, Gautam Singhania, Karan Johar, Shahrukh khan, Vinod Khanna, Nagesh Kukunoor, Hema Malini, Jackie Shroff, Jeetendra, Tushar Kapoor, Prem Chopra, Aroon Poorie, Koel Purie along with Rekha Purie, Cinematographer Ashok Mehta, Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak, Shabana Azmi, Kiron Kher, Zeenat Aman, Poonam Sinha and many other respected personalities from the film, media and business sectors.
