On August 12, 2006, academy-award nominated, highly respected film-maker Ashutosh Gowarikar interacted with students at Whistling Woods International
After a special screening of ‘Swades’, Ashutosh Gowarikar interacted for over an hour with the faculty and students of the first batch of WWI at the Pelicula Auditorium on the WWI campus.
The students questions ranged on topics like his personal convictions which led to the creation of ‘Swades’, his methodology of dealing with the film script & screenplay, his technique of dealing with different actors, his on-set team-management, his thought process which leads to the sound design of his films and whether the peculiar characters in his films are people he has experienced or purely fictional.
Ashutosh’s responses were exceptionally enlightening. His simple methodology to tackle extremely complicated aspects of film-making, was highly insightful and awe-inspiring to the students. He truly made film-making seem simple, which in reality it is not.
