More than hundred students of Whistling Woods International in Filmcity Mumbai, were on a question & answer spree with Madhuri Dixit when she came to plant a sampling at the campus followed by an interactive session with students in the Whistling Woods auditorium. “You don't have to be a great dancer to be a great actor; these are two different faculties, though complimenting each other. In dancing form, your face and eyes must express the lyrics and director's storytelling vision. The actor must tell a story convincingly - if he/she fails, the story fails, the film loses its story, its promise." She applauded the students for opting formal education. “When we started, there was nothing like Whistling Woods to help us. We learnt the hard way, by making mistakes and all those mistakes are there forever on celluloid for everyone to see. Formal film education would have enabled us to avoid those mistakes.” She explained, “We didn't even know the technical & operational aspects of other departments on the set like Cinematography, Sound or Production. The ancillary knowledge that you receive during your education here will be invaluable to your success in your career. I wish I could have such wonderful, world class facilities to learn.”
