Cinema Students Applaud Vishal Bharadwaj
July 20, 2007

Whistling Woods International, Mumbai added its new batch of students on 9th of July. The Freshmen students opened their session with an insightful session from their first guest speaker - Vishal Bhardwaj. His movies Maqbool & Omkara were screened earlier in the week.
Vishal Bhardwaj congratulated the students for choosing a great platform like Whistling Woods to begin their journey from, unlike himself who had to spend several years in the industry and attend several international workshops to learn the knowledge & skill he now possesses.
Students gave him a thunderous applause and standing ovation for his approach, sacrifice and passion for cinema - during making of Maqbool, he offered to forego his directorial fees, to enable himself to shoot in real locations in Bhopal because to him the quality of his film was more important than his home & kitchen which was then running on jingles he composed for ADFilms.
Whistling Woods celebrates its 1st anniversary on 18th of July 07, with students and dignitaries from the media industry. Ace percussionist Sivamani will be performing to commemorate the occasion. Last year, Ace Flute maestro Hariprasad Chaurasia performed to inaugurate this world class film institute. For details visit www.whistlingwoods.net
