“I support Whistling Woods International institute for film, TV and Animation completely. This institute is definitively goin to augment the quality of the Indian film, TV and Animation industries, such is the world class quality I see here” said Ashok Chavan, minister for Culture, Govt. of Maharashtra while addressing over 200 students and the faculty and staff of WWI during his visit to the Whistling Woods International campus at Filmcity, Mumbai this week. Chavan added “We are proud of this joint venture with Mukta Arts & Subhash Ghai, who has brought forth his 30- plus years of successful film making experience to this partnership. He has proven his mettle again by giving shape to his dream of starting a world class Film, TV & Animation training institute. This institute, located in the heart of the Indian media industry – Mumbai in our very own Maharashtra, has come as a much-needed shot in the arm for the talent-starved Indian media industry.” Subhash Ghai welcomed Ashok Chavan to WWI and took him on a guided tour of the high-tech facility. Shri Ashok Chavan, in turn advised him and the senior management of WWI to share their learning and knowledge of opening and operating such a world class facility with other institutes, universities and collegesin India. The students were moved by the minister’s genuine concern for the quality of the Indian media industry and had a request of their own – They requested permission for WWI to build a hostel for them within the WWI campus to which the minister replied “You have my complete support”
