Advertising industry stalwarts speak to W.W.I.

Kailash and Arti Surendranath of Kailash Company, one of the oldest, most experienced and respectable ad-film production companies in India, conducted a 2-day workshop with the students of WhistlingWoods International.
On Day 1, Kailash introduced studentsto varied aspects of ad-film making – from the client brief to the final airing of the TV commercial. He also exhibited some ad-films produced and directed by him in a structured genre-wise breakup.
On Day 2, both Kailash and Arti spoke at length about their experiences in the production of some landmark ad-films in Indian advertising history like Nirma, Mile Sur Mera Tumhara etc. They further stressed how important Production Design is to an ad-film and how it is still to evolve in the Indian media industry as a serious profession.
They also spoke at length about their line-production experiences for the Indian schedule of the Hollywood film A Mighty Heart, starring Angelina Jolie.
