A film director becomes responsible for overseeing every creative aspect of the project. Directors develop their unique vision for how it should look, what tone it should express, and what the audience should derive from the viewing experience. A director does not simply see words on the page, but visualizes a moving image with imagined shots, lighting, performances and emotion. The most critical skill for a director is the ability to effectively communicate that vision to the talent and crew, drawing together


The task of the editor is to take the (sometimes overwhelming) visual and audio footage captured during principal photography, add to this additional visual and audio components from visual effects, sound effects, originally composed and prior composed music, and assemble only the optimally orchestrated portions of these into the most entertaining, well-structured and coherent story . The art of screenwriting focuses on the editor's choices to linger or cut away from an actor, shorten or lengthen a pause, take


The Producing specialisation provides students essential grounding in the organizational skills and business practices, preparing them to work in both the Indian and international industries as a Producer. It enables students to take on a producer's three dimensional role as Creative Producer, Executive in Charge of Production and Line Producer. Creative Producer Producers are creative entrepreneurs, driving the business decisions that shape every aspect of the production from a project's initial discovery


The Sound Recording and Sound Design specialisation trains students in all the essential technical elements of sound and instills in them a profound appreciation of the enormous aesthetic contribution sound makes to a motion picture's production. Students gain a comprehensive knowledge of sound design and the role of sound in any creative audio-visual endeavour. The Screenwriting Specialisation Programme at WWI is, in many ways, a unique professional training programme. Its overriding objective is to prepare students to become professional screenwriters with a deep understanding of the craft, empowering them to write on a range of topics in varied genres for Indian as well as international cinema. Students are also trained to write for other mass media and narrative formats such as television (fiction, game shows, talk shows, news segments, and the like), documentaries
