On completion of the Foundation Course, students move into a detailed specialisation curriculum. The curriculum combines the very best techniques of traditional and digital animation training in a single dynamic programme presented in a focused and interdisciplinary manner and is designed to meet the exacting standards of the animation industry for creativity, originality and high production values.
The programme also develops every individual student into a capable team member with respective specialised skills required for a studio environment anywhere in the world. Through classroom teaching and private mentoring sessions, experienced professionals instruct students in advanced digital environments and cinematic storytelling skills. During the course of their studies, students are able to develop a professional-calibre portfolio.
Two Dimensional Animation
In the first and second terms you will move into your specialisation and begin extensive technical and artistic training. You will spend the second term immersed in a range of two-dimensional animation styles. Experienced artists will train you in drawing, painting and colour techniques across a variety of media. Moving into computer animation, you will learn advanced usage of Toon Boom and Flash software
Three Dimensional
Now in your second year, your talents will have refined and matured and you will progress to three dimensional animation. From initial modelling through to matte painting, compositing and visual effects, your detailed study of Maya and Shake software will see you applying your skills in more complex and significant ways in solving the creative and practical problems of the animated filmmaking process.
Diploma Productions
In the final term, you will focus on your final project, a short animated film. Your knowledge will include the entire post-production workflow for the proper finishing of your final film. At the end of the term a screening ceremony will showcase student works to leading industry professionals.

Seneca will be providing expertise and faculty to the Whistling Woods International 2-year animation programme, resulting in a diploma with credits transferable to Seneca college, Canada.
