Vision

From the Dean's Desk

When entertainment executives and even laymen to the movie business discuss world-class film schools, they may mention programmes in Los Angeles, New York, England, Vancouver and Sydney, but they seldom, if ever, mention any schools in India. Given the fact that India produces more feature films than the United States, England, Canada and Australia combined, this seems like a great oversight for the academic world. It's an oversight that we at Whistling Woods International intend to rectify.

Our vision of Whistling Woods International is of an institute of world-class stature; of a place where students thrive in an artistic environment that provides them both the creative and business skills to become the future leaders of film and television.

Chairman's Statement

In 1965, when I graduated from the Film Institute of India, Pune, with an acting diploma, I discovered how difficult it was to find a solid platform from which I could fulfil the dreams I had held since my school days in Delhi. The dream was to be a screen star and a film maker of repute.

I struggled for seven years in Bombay to discover my true potential. The two factors that helped me get there were the fundamental training I had received from the Film Institute and my constant interest in learning. In my journey, I discovered that in addition to being a stage and cinema actor, I could also become a writer, a director, a producer, a chairman of a reputed film company, Mukta Arts Limited, now, an educationist, with a dream of opening a world-class film and media school. This is my biggest passion and appears to be my biggest challenge as well.

I would like to thank once again, all those who have pledged their whole-hearted support to help make Whistling Woods International as the largest and finest institute in Asia. I would like to welcome all aspirants to enrol themselves, to discover and polish their talent, to become successful and competitive professionals and to fulfil their wishes and dreams.
