Movie Editing, work with cutting edge technology
Posted On : May 28 2009

Have you read film critiques write that some parts of a film dragged, or that there were gaping holes in another part of the story? Well that is really a rating of the film editor.

Editing often begins as soon as shooting begins and can take months. A good film editor knows how to tell a story as he sifts through long hours of footage, weeding out the bad, collecting the good and stitching it together into a pleasing entertainer. He knows how to cover up imperfections in the footage and highlight the good stuff.

Gone are the days when film editors would squint through reels of plastic film, today film editors use computers or nonlinear digital editing systems to compile a film. This is more efficient, and in skilled hands can result in a flawless picture.

So are you the patient perfectionist, willing to run and rerun a hundred times through the same scene, trying to remove faults, are you willing to work with different media like sound, do you have a fantastic imagination, then film editing could be just the stuff for you!

Posted On : May 28 2009
When most people say they want to take up acting as profession, they often allure to the loads of glamour, fan following and hero worship that is bestowed upon actors and actresses in India. But things are often not that easy, talk to any of the actors who has made it big and they will tell you their tale of deep conviction and passion that helped see them through many of the turbulent, initial years.

With the competition to get into the industry really cut throat, some people use a different entry point, modeling!. Modeling and acting isn't the same thing but they have some similarities like stage personality, a good sense of rhythm, being photogenic, an arresting face and figure, poise and professionalism, which are important traits that can help attract an acting assignment.

Besides this one must also be exceptionally talented, and willing to work really hard, be on call 24 hours a day and sometimes put in grueling 18 hour shifts.

Undoubtedly however the rewards of a box office hit are sweet and worth the effort :)
