India has the largest film industry in the world. It produces hundreds of movies and television serials, in numerous languages. Cumulatively these movies and TV serials are worth billions. Thanks to the amazing popularity of the film industry, acting as a career draws thousands of young aspirants from across the country. All with a burning desire to be rich, famous and oh yes, Glamorous with a big 'G', well who does not want to be :)
If you desire to be an actor or actress, the first thing you need to do is enroll in an acting course. Considering that acting has a good scope, numerous acting schools have sprung up in different states of India. Courses are designed to meet everybody's needs and thus range from a few months, part time, to full time degrees. With the number of applicants high, the competition for admission in most acting schools is stiff.
Some well known acting schools in the country are the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, National School of Drama (NSD),Delhi, Whistling Woods International, University of Mysore and Rabindra Bharati University.
Since most of you students have a big choice of acting schools before them, the first thing you needs to do is to get the details of the curriculum being covered in your course and opt for the one that goes into the nuances of acting.

I have found this short film a couple of days ago - Indian-short-film-my-hero . It's not a secret that indian films became more or less famour after the well-known "SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE". I hope this interest will not be forgotten together with the film |
