Masterclass is an integral part complementing the Whistling Woods International (WWI) curriculum. It provides a bridge between the student’s passions and reality, helping them to project their strategy and to plan ahead. To help accomplish this motive, WWI welcomed Sushruta Samanta, Business Head of Asia Pacific Region at Zee Entertainment Enterprise Ltd. Samanta who comes with over 16 years of expertise in various fields of media industry addressed almost 550 students of WWI this Wednesday.
It was extremely thoughtful of Samanta who took endless efforts to prepare a tailor-made presentation for the students of WWI giving them an understanding of how a media conglomerate like Zee Entertainment Enterprise operates. In addition to the insights on the functioning of the various media verticals that run under the flagship of the company, he also imparted knowledge about the company’s outreach and its more than one billion viewership. Vinita Shrivastav who accompanied him, briefed the students while the presentation was on, taking them through her experience of surveying the markets locally as well as internationally.
Students were quite curious to know the international aspect of media and television industry. While responding to this, Samanta spoke about the key factors to be taken into consideration like target audience, competitors, content, market study etc. before strategizing a particular launch.
Mr.Rahul Puri, Head-Academics, WWI said, “Our students are fortunate to be addressed by Samanta, who comes with vast and in-depth experience in the media and television industry. His insights have given the students an exposure to the television market worldwide.”
The students were fascinated with the highly informative and interactive session. Before concluding, Samanta encouraged the students by stating, “Now is the time for the industry to move on to the next level.”
