Ghai visited the HRD ministry and met Smriti Irani today and gave his suggestions to officials.

"We feel our education should be skill based and not memory based. For children artistic skill is very important even if they become scientists or engineers," he told reporters emerging from the meeting.

He said that while schools curriculum in western countries are designed in such a way, it is not so in India.

Internationally acclaimed film-maker, Shekhar Kapur, has decided to show his support for Whistling Woods International in a very unique manner.

 

She is producing a feature film named "The Unusual Inventor," which is based on a true story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, who this year was named among the Top 100 Most Influential in the Time Magazine. Why Muruganantham? Nina Srivastava says Muruganantham and his invention faced quite a battle with societal taboos, family abandonment, and was labeled a "pervert" but he changed the lives of millions of women.

Recently Filmmaker Subhash Ghai, also as the founder of his film school Whistling Woods Institute (WWI), honoured veteran actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan with lifetime achievement awards, titled the Whistling Woods Maestro Awards at the 7th Annual convocation of WWI.
