Guest Session with Alisha Sadikot (19th March)
Alisha’s workshop – Bombay’s history through art and architecture Building on the heritage walk, Alisha facilitated an intensive workshop titled “Bombay’s history through art and architecture” that served as a vital connective thread for the students’ research. By synthesising tangible elements like architectural landmarks and urban planning with the intangible narratives of historical figures and their contribution, she helped the group decode the complex cultural hybridity of Mumbai. This session was instrumental in helping students move beyond surface-level observations, allowing them to trace how colonial influences and Indo-European exchanges have directly shaped the city’s contemporary identity and modern social fabric.
