Inspiring Excellence: Whistling Woods International Hosted a Successful 4th Edition of SMC Masterclass Marathon

Mumbai, September 11, 2023: Whistling Woods International (WWI) Dept. of Media & Communication, organised the 4th edition of Masterclass Marathon, which witnessed a successful fruition. The four-day-long diverse series of masterclasses hosted some of the best industry guests to share their wisdom and learning with the next generation of media students.

The Media & Communication Masterclass Marathon started with an interactive session with Vivek Krishnani, CEO, MovieVerse Studios at IN10 Media Network, who spoke about the three C’s of film production: Content, Casting and Costing. The insightful session concluded with an interactive Q&A, providing the students with an understanding of the business of film production and distribution.

Day 2 of Masterclass Marathon witnessed Anand Karir, Director of A Glass of Whiskey, Creative Mentor at Boing Advertising, Managing Director of A Glass of Whiskey Theatre, Founder & Partner of Flowing Inc, a creative polymath, who spoke about his experiences in making award-winning advertorials and creative campaigns, the power of out-of-the-box thinking and building a reputation in the industry.

Tinesh Chopade, Associate Director – Advocacy, The Humsafar Trust and Diversity & Inclusion Specialist, addressed the young minds about the importance of diversity and inclusion in various sectors on Day 3 of the masterclass series. The session highlighted laying down strategies for promoting equal rights for the LGBTQ community and the ways to advocate social change and inclusion in the workplace.

Bringing the well-rounded experience of the Media & Communication Masterclass Marathon to its fruition, acclaimed Journalist and Children’s Fiction Author, Shabnam Minwalla introduced the students to a world of creativity and imagination. With insights and instances from her journey, she spoke about how her stint with Times of India helped her understand people and breathe life into the characters in her books.

Rahul Puri, Head of Academics, WWI commented on the significance of Masterclass Marathon for students.
