Shashank Khaitan, who makes his directorial debut with Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, learnt direction at Subhash Ghai’s institute before assisting him on Black & White and Yuvvraaj. After a couple of years in TV and ad films, he returned to movies. And just before he started working on Shuddh Desi Romance, his HSKD script was approved by Karan’s production house.
