Whistling Woods International Celebrates 20 Years of Shaping the Future of Creative Arts
The ‘Been Twenty, Now We’re Plenty theme this year, is a tribute to 20 years of creativity, collaboration, and community

Whistling Woods International (WWI), India’s premier institute of Film, Communication, Creative & Performing Arts, celebrates 20 years of nurturing creative talent and shaping India’s Media & Entertainment industry. Since its inception in 2006 as an institution for Film and Animation education, WWI has grown into one of India’s leading creative arts institutes, empowering storytellers, artists, designers, performers, and media professionals.

Over the past two decades, WWI has stayed ahead of the curve through industry-first initiatives, pioneering technology partnerships, and global academic collaborations that provide students with hands-on industry learning and international exposure.

To mark this milestone, WWI has announced its “Been Twenty, Now We’re Plenty” theme—a celebration of the people who have shaped its journey. Rooted in nostalgia, the campaign brings together alumni, students, faculty, staff, and industry partners, paying tribute to the relationships, shared experiences, and creative collaborations that have made WWI one of India’s leading creative arts institutions.

“When we established Whistling Woods International in 2006, our vision was to create a world-class institution where creativity could thrive and aspiring storytellers could learn both the art and practical skills needed to succeed in the industry,” said Subhash Ghai, Founder & Chairman, Whistling Woods International. “Today, that vision has evolved into India’s only institute with a thriving creative community spanning Media, Acting, Producing, Fashion & Costume Design, Music Composition & Production, Game Design, Animation, and Visual Communication Design.”

Reflecting on the milestone, Meghna Ghai Puri, President, Whistling Woods International, said, “As we celebrate 20 years of Whistling Woods International, we celebrate the thousands of dreams that found direction and purpose here. Every student, alumnus, faculty member, staff member, and industry partner has contributed to this legacy. As the Media & Entertainment landscape evolves, our commitment remains unwavering—to empower the next generation of creative professionals with the skills, values, and vision to shape the future.”
WWI’s commitment to innovation continues to define its journey. From capturing the Kumbh Mela in VR and hosting India’s first SMPTE Standards Meet to live-streaming the Paris Olympics in 8K through its collaboration with Intel, the institute has consistently embraced emerging technologies. Through collaborations with global technology leaders such as Sony, Apple, Adobe and invideo, WWI ensures students are trained on industry-leading tools and workflows. Its international academic partnerships with institutions including Nottingham Trent University, Toronto Metropolitan University , Ulster University , and Queen Mary University of London provide students with valuable global exposure and cross-cultural learning opportunities. Continuing its future-ready approach, WWI has integrated Artificial Intelligence into its curriculum and showcased its AI-led vision for filmed entertainment at the NAB Show.

As it enters its third decade, WWI remains committed to redefining creative education through innovation, industry collaboration, and global partnerships while nurturing the next generation of creative leaders.
