The Indian Media & Entertainment Industry has enormous global potential yet remains relatively untapped. Innovative creative management talent in the industry is core to creating a global springboard for Indian Intellectual Property. This is at the core of our MBA programme, which equips students with the acumen to build & manage business models and drive the creation of several Indian-origin global Media & Entertainment behemoths.
This programme, the first to be launched by any IIM in India, created jointly with Whistling Woods International, is tailored to meet the evolving demands of the global media landscape, covering film, television, digital media, gaming, animation, and more.

WWI is India’s premier institute of Film, Communication, Creative & Performing Arts. Founded by one of India’s leading filmmakers – Subhash Ghai, WWI has been successfully delivering world-class education in all creative & technical aspects of the Media & Entertainment Industry since 2006.
PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE
This programme aims to:
- Develop strategic, managerial and leadership competence necessary to build various media ecosystems that support the orange economy.
- Provide industry-integrated learning and exposure that will enrich learners by developing a deep structural and functional understanding of the media and entertainment sector.
- Facilitate learners in learning how to operate themselves in a digitally disrupted competitive landscape, and given the context, how they can foster their creative and analytical abilities in content-driven businesses.
- Establish their legal, ethical, moral and cultural sensitivities, learners will pave the path for their effective and responsible entrepreneurial leadership skills.

Programme Highlights
MBA (Media and Entertainment) is a multidisciplinary course that combines creative industries (films, media, television, OTT, advertising, print) with management disciplines (planning, finance, legal, resource use, coordination). This programme aims to balance media and entertainment creativity with professional leadership efficiency.
Programme Flexibility
- Programme Flexibility is in line with NEP-2020.
- Certificate after completing one semester.
- Postgraduate Diploma upon successful completion of the full one-year programme.
- Options for industry internships, field projects, research immersion, or entrepreneurial projects within the one-year framework.
- Flexible payment terms – candidates can choose a yearly or a module-based fee payment.
Programme Structure:
The in-campus component at IIM Mumbai and the WWI campus shall comprise seven modules. Each module (Modules 1-3 and 5-7) will offer several courses, for a total of 18 credits and covering a total of 180 hours of instruction. The fourth module will cover a total of 60 hours of an industry-relevant internship project. The students will do the capstone project of six credits (covering 60 hours) over the 5th to 7th module. Thus, the overall campus components will be 120 credits, covering a total of 1200 program hours.

Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria defined below:
The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks, or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories], awarded by any University or educational institution as incorporated by an Act of Parliament or the State Legislature in India, or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Candidates should submit a valid CAT score.
Shortlisted candidates will participate in a Group Discussion and Personal Interview conducted by IIM Mumbai and WWI faculty members.
The final selection list will be announced accordingly.
